A guide to designing your life and building a solid foundation

I think we have all been lost at some point. We don’t understand why we are not happy, fulfilled, or doing what we want.

Maybe the problem is not your work ethic or your ability, but rather just a foundation of your characer and values. Today we will explore these ideas in an FAQ format

Foundational direction

Q: What are basic foundational steps to have a minimum viable life

  • Physical health: make sure you are eating well, sleeping well, and go outside everyday if the weather is not bad. This is important because you will need to feel energetic and healthy to do what you want to do!
  • Mental health: you will need to be the best avocate for yourself, and understand that you are worthy of succeeding further. Additionally, you should maintain good relationships with friends.
  • Sense of purpose: Although there is no true meaning of life, you can create your own purpose by finetuning your directions everyday and executing as much as you can towards what you believe to be the beacon of light. If you feel lost, step back a bit.

Q: What does success mean?

  • Success: there are 5 general metrics that I consider to be important: excellence, relationships, fulfillment, creativity, and purpose.
  • Of course there are other ones that will align based on your values.

Q: How do you know you are on the right track?

  • Honestly, this is hard to say. With media and information overload. There are differing opinions on how to live life. But the best guide is yourself. Think about the values you have, use that to guide you. Talk to other people that you trust and get help.

More specific directions

Q: Let’s say there are a lot to manage? How do you plan things out?

  • use a base system like get things done as reference and create your own system.
  • don’t worry too much if your system is comprehensive, you will need a good system that requires some trial and error to figure out

Everyday execution and dynamics

Q: How to deal with dynamical feedback from others (both critics and positive alike)

  • accept critics and accept positive feedback
  • you are worthy?
  • Here is an example on accepted yourself: I used to be a gifted kid and did well in school. However, due to great achievements early on. I became less motivated to work hard which prompted others to catch up to me. By recognizing that I should learn how to work harder, it doesn’t mean that I am any less worthy, it means that I gained the potential to become more successful.

Q: How to deal with failures that have huge impact, additionally, how would you deal with success?

  • Stand up and keep going, take a break

Q: How do you prove that you are worthy

  • You were the best, so be better, and peopel will recognize that?

Q: How do you deal with the idea that it’s not too late

  • You can’t change the past, so don’t worry about it?

Q: How to not let perfectionism consume you?

  • Perfectionism is not possible, aim for the best that is reasonable and remember there is almost no limit, but there is a limit of time

Q: How to accept the fact that sometimes you are just really stressed and tired?

  • take a break, think about the worst case scenario

Morals and Ethics

Q: In a very competitive world, there are people who are going to use underhand tricks and step on you without any remorse. Should you defend by breaking morals so you don’t get screwed over?
